A logo for the relaunch of the African American Resource Center.

Audience

The core target audience is CCSF African American students and providing a holistic space for them to feel welcomed and safe, but the resource center is open and welcome to all students.

Key Messages

Denoted (literal content) see supplied content in Google Drive client has preference (but not required) for an African flower, 4 colors (black

and light shades of red, orange, green) and a circular form. vibrant, cozy, lively.

Connoted Messages

logo should promote their value of creating a space for students to thrive and feel welcomed. students should feel a sense of community, cultural engagement and empowerment.

keep the taglines/quotes “Heal together, work together, thrive together” and “A person is a person because of other people” in mind.

Research

I started with research into floral, patterns, nature and other resource centers logos. I saw a theme of people, community and growth. The clients kept mentioning flowers during our consultation so I wanted to loosely base the design off that.
